I'm having problems with the email on alert functionality in Monitor Magic (version 6.1 build 1358) where a Server 2008 event log alert will be emailed but information is not processed completely.
Most of the tags for generating data process correctly, but the %RESULT_DATA_DESCRIPTION% tag, when emailed, will only print [RESULT_DATA_DESCRIPTION] instead of printing the actual description from the associated event log.
I'm hoping someone can help me to figure out why this is happening. |

Hi Micha,
This is probably caused because the "Eventdata" property of the particular event is empty in the original message. If you look in the windows event viewer on 2008 for the same event, there is an detailed tab, and there is a field "Eventdata". This field is the main source for the message MonitorMagic shows. If it is missing in the actual event message, MonitorMagic will apperantly not show a description.
Does it show for events that have this data? _________________ Regards,
